Visits: There are several beautiful cities to visit: Pau, Bayonne, Biarritz, Saint-Jean-De-Luz... You will adore the architecture of the white houses with their frequent red or green half-timberings (which are actually the colours of the Basque Country!) In Pau, you can visit the museum of Fine Arts, the castle of Pau and the cathedral of Lescar. Bayonne is also a very lovely city: stroll through its narrow streets, have a coffee on a terrace, visit the Sainte Marie cathedral, and if you are in the area between the last Wednesday of July and the following Sunday, you can attend the famous Bayonne festivals! Don't forget to dress in red and white for the occasion!
Surfing and swimming: The beaches of Biarritz are well known to surfers. You can rent equipment and take sailing lessons, or simply relax on the beach with a good book.
Hiking: You will find many marked paths near your holiday home in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. There are paths for all levels and tastes: seaside, lakes, footbridges ... Tip: download the Visiorando app, it is very good and outlines all the walks in the area.
