Discover Corsica

What Corsica has to offer

Corsica is a Mediterranean island with a lot going for it, that much is clear to see: mountains, rocky coasts, fine sandy beaches, a stunning coastline - there's no end to the treasures waiting to be discovered! Its picturesque seaside villages will delight both your eyes and your taste buds. Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio, Calvi: so many towns just a stone's throw from the sea that you absolutely must visit from your holiday accommodation in Corsica

Best times to visit the island (and enjoy the sea)

If you want to make the most of the sea in Corsica, the summer months are the best option. From June to September you can soak up the sun, swim in the beautiful turquoise waters and enjoy pleasant, or even hot, temperatures. July and August are the most popular months, so we recommend you come in June or September if you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful dip in the sea. In September, the shops are still open, the water is fantastic, and many of the tourists are no longer around, as the school holidays have been and gone!

Advice on choosing your seaside holiday rental

Depending on whether you want a sea view

Would you like to wake up every morning to a breathtaking view of the sea and the azure blue of the Mediterranean? Choose a holiday home in Corsica that offers this wonderful opportunity! Some apartments in the Sognu di Rena apartment complex in Moriani Plage offer the chance to enjoy your coffee on your balcony: what a way to start the day!

Based on proximity to the beach

Are you travelling with your children and want to be at the beach as quickly as possible when they fancy taking a dip or building a sandcastle? We've got just what you need!

We offer holiday accommodation in Calvi with direct access to the beach (just a 50 m walk from the Dolce Vitta campsite!), or just a few minutes' walk from the Lisa Maria apartment complex in Sari-Solenzara.

Based on amenities and services

Do you consider it more important that you can avail of certain services to ensure a comfortable stay? Air conditioning, balcony, swimming pool, wellness area - with Vacancéole you'll have a wide range of amenities and services to choose from! If you hire a car on site, there is often a car park where you can easily find a space. Wi-Fi access is also important so you can share your most beautiful photos and make all your friends envious with sunny stories on a daily basis!

You can also opt for optional extras to lighten your suitcases, especially if you're travelling by plane: a bed linen pack and a towel pack will save you so much space in your luggage! The time-saving bonus: opt for end-of-stay cleaning (excludes the kitchen area).

The most beautiful beaches in Corsica

Corsica is synonymous with... beaches, of course! Discover the most beautiful beaches in the Corsica's 2 departments!

The most beautiful beaches in Haute-Corse

From your holiday accommodation in Haute-Corse, here are the beaches we recommend if you want to enjoy a swim or simply enjoy a dip to cool off:

  • Plage de Sale cia: nestled in the north-west of Corsica, Saleccia beach is a small and very much unspoilt gem. Only accessible by boat or 4x4, this beach offers an untouched setting, with a beautiful panoramic view of its crystal-clear waters. Surrounded by shady pines, you can enjoy a swim away from the crowds.
  • Plage de Nonza: on the west coast, Nonza beach is famous for its black volcanic sand, which provides a lovely contrast to the turquoise waters. Overlooked by the village of Nonza and its Genoese tower, it's an ideal spot for unusual photos.
  • Plage de l'Ostriconi: unspoilt and bordered by a river and vegetation, Ostriconi beach offers a most pleasant natural setting. Its shallow waters make it an ideal beach for families with children.
  • Plage de Lumio: on the west coast, Lumio beach boasts a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. Protected by the bay, it offers calm, shallow waters - ideal for families looking for a safe place to swim.

The most beautiful beaches in southern Corsica

And what if you tend towards holiday accommodation in Corse-du-Sud? Here are our favourite spots for swimming on the beaches of southern Corsica!

  • Palombaggia beach: this beach is considered to be the most beautiful in all of Corsica. Would you agree? With its fine sand, crystal-clear waters, shady pines, and rocky outcrops, it's sure to provide a picture-postcard setting!
  • Santa Giulia beach: located not far from Palombaggia beach, Santa Giulia beach is another must-see gem! A turquoise lagoon, rolling green hills, shallow, calm waters: everything you need for a great family day out, whether you fancy sunbathing or swimming!
  • Plage de Rondinara: Rondinara beach is nestled in a shell-shaped bay (hence the name Rond?). This location means it is protected from the wind and offers a peaceful setting. It's the perfect spot for snorkelling on account of its wealth of marine life.
  • Plage de Campomoro: on the west coast, Campomoro beach offers authentic, unspoilt charm with its small fishing village. With its clear waters and golden sand, it's a great spot to try your hand at diving.

As well as the pleasures of the seaside, Corsica also offers numerous opportunities for cultural and natural discovery.

Take advantage of your stay to enjoy a hiking trip along the coast, but also be sure to venture inland. If you're looking for a more family-friendly stroll, there's also a wide range of options to suit all abilities.

Corsica is also an opportunity to discover iconic historic sites, such as the City of Bonifacio and its breathtaking cliffs, the archaeological site of Aléria to discover remnants from the Roman era, or the Genoese towers, built in the 16th century to protect the island from barbarian invasions. What an itinerary!
