Remoulins is a charming little village with its medieval centre on the banks of the Gardon. It is located at a true historical and cultural crossroads:

• 30 km from Arles and its Roman amphitheatre,
• 25 km from the ancient monuments of Nimes, 
• And 20 km from Avignon and its sublime Palais des Papes. 

Don't miss Uzes, classified as a town of art and history, and the Eure Valley on the outskirts of the town.

When the sun shines, you can go for a nice walk where it’s cooler, near the river. Two thousand years ago, the route of the water that supplied Nimes began here and passed over the highest Roman bridge in the world (50 m). There you will find remains of the aqueduct.

3 km from Remoulins, follow the Pont du Gard interpretation trail, which you can reach by canoe from Collias. This picturesque village benefits from an exceptional natural setting. Take the opportunity to taste the picholines (to be pronounced with the local accent!), the olives of which Collias has made a speciality.

Hiking grounds, the Gorges du Gardon can be discovered on foot, thanks to a network of paths which are neither very long nor very difficult. Very often, the itineraries allow you to discover the small local heritage lost in the countryside. 

However, to admire the extraordinary ecosystem of this UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve, the preferred means of transportation is indeed the kayak. You can make an excursion from Remoulins to the Pont du Gard. If this short (but beautiful) trip is not enough for you, some canoe trips are 30 km long!

By bike, a greenway trail of about an hour leaves the Pont du Gard, passes through Remoulins and several other charming villages. You also have a multitude of possibilities for mountain biking.

One of the most practiced activities in these wild natural areas of the Gard is the via ferrata. A little further north, the landscapes are also suitable for canyoning and caving.
