Lovers of Roman history have a treat in store! Take a trip back in time and visit the Arles Ampitheatre, more commonly known as the “Arena.” Similar to the Arena in Nîmes, the Amphitheatre in Arles was built in the first century AD and could accommodate up to 20,000 spectators for gladiator combats. Even today, during your stay in your summer holiday rental, you can attend re-enactments of gladiator battles and the Camargue races in these magnificent arenas.

In terms of gastronomy, we recommend the olives and especially olive oil! Did you know that one-third of the olive oil produced in France comes from the Bouches du Rhône department? The green olives are harvested from September while the  December and January harvest is for olives that have turned black. During your stay in Arles, try the oil from Domaine de Bastidettes which is ranked among the 50 best oils in the world! 

After the olive oil, we recommend the real Arles sausage. This world-famous sausage owes its exquisite taste to the quality of the meat and the condiments combined with it.
