Meiringen, the Sherlock Holmes’s resort

Meiringen is a holiday resort in the Bernese Oberland, south-east of Lake Brienz. It was in this village that the very famous novel character Sherlock Holmes died before coming back to life. You can visit the museum dedicated to this character. Other activities include a visit to the glacier gorges, the Reichenbach Falls or the Rosenlauital valley. Meiringen is only 30 minutes away from Interlaken, the city of dreams. The snow sports enthusiasts can enjoy: skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoe outings, bobsled tracks or hiking, the choice is yours!

Our favorite? The Alpen Tower in Planplatten, a panoramic restaurant at an altitude of 2,250 m with a 360° view of the mountain ranges.
