Vacancéole is committed to the environment, but what are we actually doing? We are committed to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) because we care about working to foster the wellbeing of Humans and protect the environment.

Here are some of our priorities:

Improving residence quality for our guests
Working towards more caring and responsible tourism. Because of climate change, we are introducing initiatives to reduce consumption (electricity, water, etc.)
Reducing the impact of our tourist activity through simple green actions and careful planning
Working with associations, labels and local players to develop environmentally-friendly tourism

We are working with the LPO (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux [League for the Protection of Birds]) association to make holiday residences into refuges for biodiversity. Find out what we're doing on our dedicated page. And one label that is close to our hearts is Green Key.

is the Green Key label?

It is the top sustainable tourism label for tourist accommodation and restaurants. Nearly 65 countries offer this label; in France there are 855 establishments that have achieved it. And the number continues to grow every year.

This label focuses on 3 main areas:

Respect for the area: looking after nature and people too. This means designing leisure activities that do not harm nature, paying attention to energy and water consumption, facilitating local players and natural assets, etc. All these things are to give areas a boost.
Combining sustainable tourism and the joy of travel: customers who choose a Green Key residence do not have to give up any niceties or comforts. Green Key establishments make sure to provide a healthy natural environment and raise people's awareness of environmental issues. Holidaymakers are invited to get involved, at their own pace, in everyday activities that allow for more responsible and eco-friendly holidays.
Sensible prices: a Green Key establishment doesn't mean higher prices. All types of accommodation (and restaurants) can obtain this label without having to invest a lot of money and raise their prices.

It is an independent jury that awards the label to residences based on a hundred or so criteria related to sustainable tourism management.
